Message from the Trustees

Hi All,

Tim, John T, and I have been very busy with church, NS, and Parsonage maintenance.  It is becoming overwhelming. I have put together a list of jobs that need immediate attention (see the link at the bottom of this page). This list is far from comprehensive.  We are trying to keep the church afloat and trying to avoid paying professionals to do jobs that  lay people can manage.  Please take a look at the list and volunteer wherever possible.  Tim and I have purchased the pesticide that the mosquito guy used and will spray the building ourselves once the protective gear and pesticide arrives.  The architect that was given to us from Florlift has decided not to take on the job because Massapequa is too far from Queens where they are located.  I called in a local architect who came to the church last week to look over the job ( we need drawings from a licensed NYS architect for the TOB permit-they will not accept Florlift’s NJ plans).  He will hopefully have a proposal for us soon. Say a prayer that this guy is reasonable and can complete the drawings in a timely manner.  If this doesn’t work out, we will literally be back to the drawing board!  I will then seek out another architect.  Rita’s new AC has been installed.  Two fans have been installed in the upstairs classrooms.  Pastor Jane’s sprinklers are operational. Her faucet in the kitchen was fixed.  The wireless controls for the Split AC units are beginning to be installed ( Tim did one of the downstairs units yesterday and will do the others)  John and Tim will address Pastor Jane’s oil burner issues.  Any help would be appreciated.

PS  If there are other manageable jobs that need attention, please let me know and I will add it to the list.
